It also facilitates access to online applications and portals using only one password and a single digital ID.
What is meant by logging in using MyDigital ID?

Will MyDigital ID replace MyKad?

No. MyDigital ID does not replace MyKad for transactions at physical counters. It is only used for online identification.
What makes MyDigital ID unique?

MyDigital ID is the only online identification platform in Malaysia that is certified and guaranteed to be secure. With one password and one digital ID, it facilitates access to various online applications and portals. Identity verification is done entirely online and refers directly to the government database without storing any of the user's personal data.
How to register for MyDigital ID?

Online:
You can log in to any application that has the MyDigital ID login option by entering a valid password.Access via Portal: To access a portal that has the MyDigital ID login option, open the MyDigital ID app on your device, click "Scan QR", scan the QR code displayed on the portal, and enter a valid password. Mobile Browser: Click the QR code on the login page (which will take you to the MyDigital ID app), enter a valid password, and then you will be logged in automatically and returned to the portal page.
Kiosk:
For physical registration, please visit a nearby MyDigital ID kiosk. Ensure you bring your MyKad/MyTentera along with a mobile device that has an internet connection. Follow the steps displayed on the kiosk.
How to use MyDigital ID?

What does Single Sign-On (SSO) mean in the context of MyDigital ID?

This means you can use MyDigital ID to log in to various integrated online applications and portals without needing different usernames and passwords.
Can users still access government online services without using MyDigital ID?

For now, other login methods can still be used to access Government services online. However, the use of MyDigital ID is recommended to guarantee the security of online transactions.
What is MyDigital ID Pre-Registration?

MyDigital ID Pre-Registration is an initial process that helps facilitate full registration by verifying the name and identity card number beforehand.
What are the advantages of MyDigital ID Pre-Registration?
General
Pre-registration allows users to complete the full registration process more quickly, as their name and identity card number have already been verified. In addition, it also helps prevent misuse of the MyDigital ID registration by deterring unauthorised parties from attempting to use the user's real identity.
The simplified process is outlined as follows:
a. Online Registration
Users who have completed pre-registration can enjoy a simplified online registration process via the MyDigital ID application. With key personal details (name and identity card number) already verified during pre-registration, users can proceed directly to email verification (via a one-time password or OTP) and facial recognition.
b. Kiosk Registration
Pre-registered users can proceed with registration at MyDigital ID kiosks without repeating earlier verification steps.
How to do pre-registration?
General
Online:
a. Visit the official EPF website.
b. Please log in to your i-Akaun.
c. Once logged in, members can refer to the MyDigital ID display on the KWSP homepage.
d. Members must provide consent to obtain a MyDigital ID by confirming their name and identification card number as shown on the screen.
e. Pre-registration is successful. Users can download the MyDigital ID application on their smartphone to continue the registration process (online or at a kiosk) until completion.
Physically at the JPN Counter, Putrajaya:
a. Users agree to perform the MyDigital ID pre-registration at the National Registration Department counter.
b. Users will receive a copy of the pre-registration slip from the attending officer.
c. Pre-registration is successful. Users can download the MyDigital ID application on their smartphone to continue the registration process (online or at a kiosk) until completion.
What is the latest MyDigital ID feature that facilitates login?

Starting from version 2.6.0 on all major app stores, MyDigital ID now supports identity verification using local device biometrics (local biometric authentication) such as fingerprint or facial recognition according to device specifications without needing to enter a password every time you log in using MyDigital ID.
What is local device biometric verification?

It is the login process using the biometric security features available on your device (e.g., fingerprint or facial recognition) without sending that data to external servers. This feature enhances security and privacy because the data remains only on your device.
How to set up device biometric verification?

• Update the MyDigital ID app to the latest version via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery
• Open the MyDigital ID app and press the menu icon (☰)
• Select 'Biometric Settings'
• Enter your MyDigital ID password and press Activate Biometrics
• Done! You can now use biometric verification to log in using MyDigital ID
Does MyDigital ID technology use any chips or implants on users?

No. MyDigital ID does not need and will not use any chips or implants on users. The system obtains references and information directly from the National Registration Department (JPN) database.

Is the use of MyDigital ID limited to smartphones only?

What happens if a user's smartphone is lost or damaged?

If a smartphone is lost or damaged, users must revoke their digital certificate using another device or a kiosk before re-registering online or at a kiosk with their new device through the MyDigital ID app. The app remains inaccessible without the user’s password.
What is the possibility of user accounts being hacked if using MyDigital ID as a login access?

The login method using MyDigital ID does not require sending any secret keys or user passwords to the service provider. Instead, it uses QR code scanning through the MyDigital ID app, using the user's own mobile device. This method prevents the collection of user passwords through fake websites. However, the security of user accounts in any online service depends on the respective service provider.
What happens if the MyDigital ID application is uninstalled or deleted?

If the MyDigital ID application is uninstalled or deleted, the digital certificate will become invalid. Users must first revoke the digital certificate before re-registering online via the MyDigital ID application or at a nearby kiosk.

Yes, users can revoke their MyDigital ID online via the MyDigital ID app or at a kiosk. Identification documents are required for the e-KYC process for revocation.
What are the chances of a user's account being hacked when using MyDigital ID?

There is very little risk. MyDigital ID uses QR code scanning through the app so service providers do not receive passwords or secret keys. This method prevents phishing attacks through fake websites. However, account security depends on the service provider.
What measures are in place to prevent fraud or misuse of MyDigital IDs?

MyDigital ID is designed to prevent identity fraud with these measures: Zero Data Retention: No user data is stored on our servers. Data Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted to protect your identity. Secure Processing: User data is only processed temporarily and immediately pushed away.
What should users do if they forget their MyDigital ID password?

There is no way to recover the user's password. Users are allowed to make several attempts to enter the password correctly. If the user still cannot remember the password, the user needs to revoke and re-register MyDigital ID either via only or through physical kiosk.
Who is the developer of this system?

MyDigital ID is developed by My Digital ID Sdn. Bhd., a government agency under the supervision of the Prime Minister's Department.
